Beginning Watercolor with Gary Griswold, Sat. March 17

Join us in the studio with Gary on Saturday, March 17 for another great watercolor class.

Gary Griswold is a former illustrator, a life-long watercolor painter and a simply great teacher. And he’s thought out all the steps to help beginners complete a painting in just four hours. Your palette is limited to just six colors, which Gary will teach you to mix, and a couple of inexpensive big brushes, and Arches paper,so no big investment in materials! And clean-up is easy! We will fetch materials for you or you can buy them yourself locally at Akamai  from the list we provide (you get a 10% discount when you take a class with us).

Gary also has instructional sets of flash cards you can  take home to practice with ($10), a DVD ($12) and book with 30 paintings you can practice with ($35). Class size is limited so you can get good one-on-one time with Gary. Saturday, March 17, 10 am-1 pm, $65,  at the Studio in Port Townsend, Washington.

You must Register and prepay. To register, leave a comment below with your e-mail and we’ll get back to you. All comments are private.

Hi, I’m interested in taking your class, but am concerned I won’t be in town for the 2nd-4th classes. Any idea when they will be? Oh, and will the classes be held indoors or out? Thanks

  2. Paula Zimmerman says:

I would like to sign up for Gary’s 2/25 class.

I am interested in Gary’s class, but can’t come on Saturdays. Please let me know when the other classes will be.

    Thanks, Lynne

    • Hi Lynne,
Gary is one of the best watercolor instructors I’ve ever observed teach.

He teaches privately too, at my studio on Landes Street and wants to put together a weekday class. We need six students to make this worth his set-up time and the cost of lights and heat in the studio.
I’ll put the word out for a weekday class. If you have friends who would also like to learn watercolor, let me know. We’ll find a day that works for everyone. What days work for you?
